Mr. Md. Shahnewaz Alam FCA is a Chartered Accountant and Fellow Member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) with extensive professional experience in audit, taxation, VAT, financial review, and advisory services.
Educational Qualifications
- He has completed his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from the Department of Accounting and Finance of American International University Bangladesh (AIUB).
- He has completed his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Department of Finance of BRAC University.
- He completed his Chartered Accountancy from Hoda Vasi Chowdhury & Co., Chartered Accountants, Dhaka.
Professional Experience
- He worked as Head of Accounts at Savoy Ice Cream Factory Limited from 01 January 2019 to 30 November 2023.
- He has extensive experience in the field of external audit, special audit, risk advisory, and financial review of national and multinational banks, non-banking financial institutions, and private and public limited companies in Bangladesh including Bank Asia PLC, Dhaka Bank PLC, Dutch Bangla Bank PLC, Agrani Bank PLC, Prime Bank, Bengal Commercial Bank, Citi Bank, IPDC, SBAC Investment Ltd, Runner Group, Rangs Group, Rancon Automobiles, MetLife Bangladesh, IDCOL, FICCI, Rahimafrooz, Cloudwell Ltd, Hamid Fabrics, MBM Group and others.
- He has expertise in providing tax services including tax planning, tax management, tax assessment completion, bank deposit analysis, and bank reconciliation of various organizations including UTAH Group, MBM Group, Medical System Co Ltd, Hamid Spinning Mills, Fariha Group and others.
- He has expertise in submitting monthly VAT returns of reputed companies including Sundarban Courier Service, Grameen Trust, Golden Group and others.
- He has vast experience in preparation and submission of income tax returns for individuals, companies, and NGOs as well as tax certificate collection.
- He has extensive expertise in conducting special audits of Seven Rings Cement BD Ltd and Unique Hotel and Resorts Ltd.
- He has practical experience in conducting internal audits of Rangs Group, Rancon Automobiles, and Rangs Motors Ltd.
- He has expertise in inventory audit, factory audit, pre-audit, post-audit, and asset valuation of various companies including Unique Hotel and Resorts Ltd, Seven Rings Cement BD Ltd, Dabur Bangladesh Ltd, Hamid Fabrics, and Hamid Spinning Mills Ltd.
- He has extensive experience in external audit of employee benefit fund accounting and gratuity fund accounting and obtaining approval from the National Board of Revenue (NBR).
